4/11/2023 0 Comments Everspace 2 all shipsOf course, EVERSPACE 2 is far from being finished, but with most of its gameplay mechanics already in place and with 92% positive out of 1700+ reviews, we think we are off to a good start and look forward to shaping our creative vision together with our community over the next 18ish months. While we absolutely took inspiration from various iconic space combat and looter RPGs, we also want to create something new with EVERSPACE 2 that stands for its own, especially within the space combat & exploration genre. “Of course, we love these kinds of headlines, but we also want to manage expectations. Some outlets even tout EVERSPACE 2 as “ Roque Squadron meets Diablo,” “ The Witcher of Spacer Shooters,” “ Nailing Those Freelancer Vibes So Far,” or “ Descent and Privateer had a baby,” said Michael Schade, CEO & co-founder of ROCKFISH Games. Check out Rockfish’s video below to see the modular design process in action and start fantasizing about how your spaceship will look.“Since launching in Early Access a few weeks ago, we’ve received a ton of positive feedback from our community, content creators, and the gaming press. Each class of ship will also have considerably different abilities. There will also be three types of ships: light, medium, and heavy. That means you’ll get to choose from a range of hulls, wings, engines, and extensions that can be unlocked and interchanged in many different combinations. The key concept behind the vast amount of spaceships is a modular design approach. You will be able to choose primary, secondary, and tertiary colors for your ship, as well as a vessel insignia. Įach ship will have extensive options for customization. So, Rockfish decided they’d up the ante a little and put over 100 different spaceships into Everspace 2. Everspace has three ships in the base game, and an additional one was added with an expansion. One of the things that players wanted in Everspace 2 is more spaceships. And you will interact with a host of fantastic creatures, some big enough to devour spaceships whole. Outlaws will organize themselves into clans, each with their own identity and different technological development. Rockfish has also said that the entire game world for Everspace 2 will be more lively and diverse than its predecessor’s. Having lived for 30 years on one planet, I can assure you that finding your place among the stars is going to be a challenge. In Everspace 2, you will have to search for the purpose of life and find your place in society. You will continue the journey of a clone pilot from the previous game, but this time around your motivation isn’t as simple as just saving the galaxy. The game’s campaign will last about 20 hours. There’s loot to be looted, classes to choose from, skills and talents to learn, and more.Īs mentioned, Rockfish recently released some more information about the story for Everspace 2. They describe it as a single-player hack and slash action RPG…in space. But this time around, Rockfish has decided to create a persistent open world with deep space exploration. The team has ten days left to raise the needed funds, so they’ve revealed more details about the game’s story and player ships.įor those who don’t know, Everspace 2 is the sequel to roguelike space shooter Everspace. ![]() ![]() ![]() After delaying the start of the Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2 to October 2, Rockfish Games has managed to rake in over 60% of its $500,000 goal.

You can be creating a flip book about anything you like for your readers. You’ll need a few different elements when creating a flip book, such as: You don’t want to be creating a flip book about products that people find boring, so as much as I’m sure you’re excited to learn about creating a flip book right away, it is important take the time to write good content first. As long as you can turn it into a PDF, you can make your own flip book PDF to flipbook using one of the pdf to flipbook converter programs I’m going to tell you about. Or you can use something like MS Word to make a plain flipbook with photos. You can make an Adobe flipbook using any of the digital publishing tools they use. ![]() You can work on creating a flip book in InDesign or using MS Publisher. Now, you can use any program you like for creating a flip book PDF, dependent on what you have available and what you prefer. The basis to create a flipbook is to create a PDF file first. When you make a flipbook on the computer, you can also add in video, audio, a link and so many interactive elements, you can work on creating a flip book that is truly modern and engaging.Īre you excited about learning how creating a flip book works? How to make a flipbook? Meaning it resizes for different sized screens, so there’s no problem viewing it on mobile devices. When you work on creating a flip book, your flip book project is responsive. Whether it is a glossy mag or a student in your class, all these publishers have used flip book pdf software to go about creating a flip book themselves. If you’ve ever seen a publication which recognizes how to make a pdf flip pages like a book, you already know someone who is creating a flip book. I like to read magazines, but I like to do it on the go, so I subscribe to a couple of digital magazine publications for that purpose.Ī digital magazine is basically a digital flipbook with photos! I had, however, read some flip book examples without even knowing it. ![]() ![]() I’d never heard of an HTML5 flipbook either until I started looking into creating a flip book. I’m going to tell you what I’ve learned about creating a flip book, and why you should be creating a flip book yourself, today! What is a digital flipbook? I guess it was probably expensive to begin creating a flip book the flipbook app software alone probably cost hundreds, and even then, I would probably need a degree to learn about creating flipbooks using the programs. I found out that these documents are created using photo flip book maker software. What was this cool technology I wondered? I needed to modernize my offering, and I’d seen another company who were able to turn photos into a flip book with pages that really turned. Turns out they wanted to view it on their tablets and phones, but you can’t do that easily with a PDF file because it is not a responsive document. I decided to talk to some of my regular clients and see what the problem with my brochure was. It took me some time to make these documents, and I put my heart and soul into them. I always used to promote my services with PDF brochures and catalogs. Why I wanted to start creating a flip book Well, let me tell you it’s opened up a world of possibilities for me. Why would you want to be creating a flip book? They’re pretty fed up with my insistence they should be creating a flip book for themselves, so I thought I would find another way to share my enthusiasm!Ĭongratulations, you are the new outlet for my creating a flip book knowledge!Īll joking aside, I know you can be creating a flip book even if you have no previous experience. I’ve been harping on to my friends for months now about how creating a flip book is so easy. 4/11/2023 0 Comments 771 aquared deep dreamer![]() The new ‘Nexus-6’ androids developed by the Tyrell corporation start to develop their own emotional responses over time, and the new prototype Rachel has had memory implants leading to her thinking that she is human. One of the overarching themes of the story is that the task of determining what is and isn’t human is becoming increasingly difficult, with the ever-increasing technological developments. Deckard has to issue Voight-Kampff tests in order to distinguish androids from humans, asking increasing difficult moral questions and inspecting the the subject’s pupils, with the intention of eliciting an empathic response in humans, but not androids. In the film Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is a bounty-hunter who makes a living hunting down and killing replicants - androids that are so well engineered that they are physically indistinguishable from human beings. Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner (1982) is the film adaption of the classic science fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Phillip K. Reconstruction of the second Voight-Kampff test ![]() The network was trained for 6 epochs, taking about 2 weeks on my GPU. The network was trained on a dataset of all of the frames of Blade Runner cropped and scaled to 256x144. The latent representation has 200 variables, meaning the model is encoding a 256x144 image with 3 colour channels (110,592 variables) into a 200 digit representation, before reconstructing the image. The previous models described both modelled images at a resolution of 64圆4 with a batch size of 64, I scaled the network up to model images at a resolution of 256x144 with a batch size of 12 (the largest I could fit on my GPU - a NVIDIA GTX 960). It did however, lead me to building this model to generate large non-square images. Unfortunately due to time constraints I was not able to pursue this. I implemented the model in TensorFlow, with the intention of extending it with an LSTM in order to do video prediction. The discriminator processes the original and reconstructed data samples, assessing whether they are real or fake and the response in the higher layers of this network are compared to assess how similar the reconstruction is to the original sample. The decoder then attempts to reconstruct the data sample from the latent representation. The encoder encodes a data sample x into a latent representation z. Larsen et al.’s model consists of three separate networks, an encoder, a decoder and a discriminator. Overview of the variational autoencoder model combined with a discriminator network. published a paper that combined both of those approaches in a very elegant way by comparing the difference in response of the real and reconstructed samples in the higher layers of a discriminator network, they are able to produce a learned similarity metric that is far superior to a pixel-wise reconstruction error comparison (which otherwise leads to a blurred reconstruction - see Fig.2). But before I even had a chance to do that, Larsen et al. So I started investigating ways in which to train a variational autoencoder - which can reconstruct images - with the discriminator network that is used in the adversarial approach, or even some kind of network to assess how similar a reconstructed sample is to the real sample. However generative adversarial networks cannot reconstruct images, they only generate samples from random noise. I had been investigating generative models prior to Radford et al.’s paper, but when it was published it was obvious that this was the approach to follow. )įig.2 Comparison of VAE to VAE with learned similarity metric and GAN (If you are not familiar with what a convolutional neural network is, I made an online visualisation of one. did away with pooling layers entirely and simply used strided backwards convolutions. Before this it had been assumed convolutional neural nets could not be used effectively for the generation of images, as the use of pooling layers lost spatial information between layers. The important breakthrough that made this possible was the use of a convolutional architecture for the generation of images. in 2013, but until Radford et al.’s paper, it hadn’t been possible to generate coherent and realistic natural images using neural nets. The adversarial method was first proposed by Goodfellow et al. Over time the generator becomes very good at producing realistic images that can fool the discriminator. blew away the machine learning community with an approach of using a deep neural network to generate realistic images of bedrooms and faces using an adversarial training method in which a generator network generates random samples, and a discriminator network tries to determine which images are generated and which are real. Why We Need the Frontier Molecular Orbital Theory It would be followed by HOMO +2 and so forth. The next highest occupied molecular orbital, for example, would be designated HOMO +1. HOMO stands for “highest occupied molecular orbital.” LUMO stands for “lowest unoccupied molecular orbital.” The “high” and “low” components of the description refer to the energies that are present.ĭifferent degrees of energy are present within these components. This is where the HOMO and LUMO interactions come into play. This means they tend to have the highest and lowest energies, whether they are occupied or unoccupied. These outer-edge orbitals, on the “frontier” of the molecule, are the ones that tend to be the most spatially delocalized. Why Is It Called the “Frontier” Molecular Orbital Theory?įrontier molecular theory looks at the orbitals which are at the outer edges of a molecule instead of all the orbitals that may exist. The occupied orbitals of one molecule and the unoccupied orbitals of the other molecule, with specificity to the HOMO and LUMO interactions, cause an attraction between the two molecules.īecause of these observations, the frontier molecular orbital theory can explain how the interactions of HUMO in one species are naturally attracted the LUMO of another species. The positive charges of one molecule with attract the negative charges of the other molecule. When there are occupied orbitals of different molecules, they will repel one another. ![]() Fukui made three primary observations for his theory as he watched two molecules interact with one another. The foundation of the theory is found by looking at the frontier orbitals, which are the HOMO and LUMO interactions. He would become the first Asian scientist to win a chemistry-based Nobel Prize. First published in the Journal of Chemical Physics by Kenichi Fukui in 1952, it is a theory of reactivity that would eventually help Fukui share a Nobel Prize in Chemistry for reaction mechanisms. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.Frontier molecular orbital theory is an application of the MO theory that describes the interactions of HOMO and LUMO interactions. These trends may provide insight into developing materials with specifically tuned HLGs and HOMO–LUMO levels for a variety of applications. The data presented not only elaborate on the HOMO–LUMO tuning of 9-fluorenone systems but also enable the consideration of 9-fluorenones as analogous models for HOMO–LUMO tuning in other more complex polyaromatic systems such as bifluorenylidenes. Spectroscopic evidence of substituent influence on the carbonyl suggests that substituents directly impact the HLG by influencing the availability of nonbonding electrons within the carbonyl, which impacts the probability of an nπ* transition. Increasing conjugation decreased the HLG, increased the HOMO energy level, but decreased the LUMO energy level. Increasing the electron-donating character of the substituents was observed to decrease the HLG and increase the energy levels of the HOMO and the LUMO, whereas an increase in the electron-withdrawing character produced the opposite results. Results from both methods were compared and correlated with the differences in molecular structure. Electrochemical and optical measurements were used to calculate the HOMO–LUMO levels and HOMO–LUMO bandgap (HLG) for each structure. Compounds with an incremental increase in conjugation were also examined. Trends were explored in a range of compounds, beginning with structures having highly electron-withdrawing substituents and progressing to structures having highly electron-donating substituents. A study of the specific effects and overall trends for the HOMO–LUMO tuning of a diverse series of 9-fluorenones by means of extended conjugation and substituent effects is described. Highest occupied molecular orbital–lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO–LUMO) tuning is an important consideration in the development of organic-based semiconducting materials. 4/11/2023 0 Comments Tiny player pianoThey produce much finer tones due to their construction. The ConsoleĬonsole pianos are slightly bigger than Spinets, ranging more towards 40 to around 43 inches and 58 inches wide. The sound creates what is called a “dropped action” when the force of the striking the key creates an action for the force of the hammer striking the string. Be cautious if considering this type of piano, though: spinets are known to lose accuracy and have less power due to their construction, and also can cost more when repairing.
